Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Every time we walk past it smells heavenly and its packed full of customers!!! Finally had the opportunity to get takeout and it didn't disappoint!!!! The taco Tuesday deals are incredible and the surf n turf burrito was absolutely massive, it fed me 3 times. The staff were friendly and the food was ready very quick. We can't wait to come back next week and the week after that!"
"Social media said this is one of the spots to check out for Mexican food. It was pretty good I actually came here twice. First time around I got a Carnitas Burrito and a California Burrito (Carne Asada, Fries, Cheese, Guacamole, Pico de Gallo & Sour Cream). Loved the portion sizes and really liked the taste. Next time around I ordered the Caesar Burrito (Caesar Salad, Grilled Chicken, Avocado, Jack Cheese, Tartar Sauce on a Spinach Tortilla) and the Colima Burrito (Carne Asada, Breaded Fish, Guacamole, Salsa Mexicana, Cabbage & Tartar Sauce). Can't go wrong here and would totally recommend!"
"I stopped by Colima's Mexican Food and it was a solid late-night taco shop. The portions were big and the carne asada burrito was flavorful and satisfying. Service was quick and the place had a casual, no-frills vibe. It’s a great spot when you’re craving classic Mexican comfort food any time of the day."
"Very authentic Mexican food. We ordered the lengua tacos, the Colima burrito, and the chicken soup. Everything was delicious, the portions were larger than expected, and the prices were very reasonable. Would definitely come back."
"This tiny place packs a punch. There was a drive tru line so we decided to eat inside. I tried the Hawaiin Burrito, this is a Alpastor style burrito which includes Ham and cheese. The tortilla reminded me of freshly made flour which I expect is a local tortilla maker doing unless it was made in house. The salsa station was on point as it was just replenished. There was guacamole, red salsa, green salsa, pico de gallo, chilles Toriados y cebollitas. Will recommend and would highli visit this place if I lived near by."
"On my first night out in SD, was told the best tacos and Cal burritos are at Colimas. What a true statement. Was lucky to find a table inside and sit on location to enjoy the atmosphere and view all kinds of people coming in to enjoy Colimas food. Burritos was the best I have had. Good sauces and spicey onions!!! Service was quick and with a smile."
"Great $1.89 tacos on Taco Tuesday. Fast and accurate service. Tacos made with double corn tortillas and well complimented with fresh onion and cilantro. Limited parking and inside seating so plan accordingly. Enjoy"
"Amazing food and SO much for your money. Food came out fast and the really great staff brought everything over quickly. I couldn’t believe how much food we got for our money. I can eat, and I had to bring home half of my chimichanga. Half of it was the size of a full burrito. Filled to burst with chicken and veggies. The rice and beans on the side were spectacular! They have beers too so I washed it down with a cold Modelo. Couldn’t have been better!"
